Reflection on COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS!

No matter how you turn it, no matter how you apply it, no matter how you condition it, I am quite convinced that you have enormous blessings in this life. Think over them! The breath freely given, the parts of the body masterly fixed at its different functions, the great blessing of sleep that revives your body and soul, the free gift of rain, and sunshine, and above all, the gift of living. These and so many other favours in life ceaselessly call upon you to sit down, relax your stress, cool down the agitated nerves and begin to count your blessings.
Real joy in the final analysis consists in recognizing your blessings and rejoicing over them. It is thankfulness for those things which you have, but not due to you. It is satisfaction with and gratitude for the mysteries of your life: your family, your food, your opportunities, your freedom, your intellect, your health, and many numerous gifts that are freely bestowed on you by the Author of life. The bad news coming from the people, nothwithstanding, Barnabas and Paul counted on their blessings: And all the assembly kept silence; and they listened to Barnabas and Paul as they related what signs and wonders God had done through them among the Gentiles.
In life, blessings and troubles succeed each other as sunshine and shadow does to one another. Both are present at once. They grace life at every moment. So also some things in our complex existence are going well, some ill; joy and sorrow, prosperity and lack, peace at home and strife abroad or strife at home and peace abroad; health and sickness, poverty and riches, suffering and comfort – all these constantly exchange Wedding rings throughout our life journey.
But whether the result is happiness or sorrow depends on which one you magnify. If you magnify your troubles, life becomes troublesome for you. But if you multiply your joy, life become joyous for you. If you magnify your misery, life becomes miserable for us. But if you count on your blessing life becomes blissful and glorious for you. If you look steadily at the sunny side of your life, you will gradually discover that you have much to rejoice over and be thankful for. It is time to start counting your blessing!
